Sizing Details

Each individual listing currently specifies bust, waist and hip measurements (where applicable) for all available sizes. All pieces are available in UK sizes 8-14, with some piece up to a UK 18, though these sizes might differ from standard high street sizing. Please contact us if you require further fit details (e.g. inside leg, shoulder to shoulder, etc).

Do You Accept Custom Orders?

Within reason, yes. If you’d like a size we don’t currently offer or need a tweak in a fitted piece, drop us a message and we’ll see what we can do. Unfortunately this is only currently available on pieces made at our studio, not those made at our Lynemouth factory. We’d love to be able to offer a larger range of sizes, including plus size, so size requests will help us to determine if there’s a desire for this in future collections!

If you need a piece with an alteration (smaller waist, larger bust, etc), or in another fabric (though it must be a fabric within the collection!), this may be able to be accommodated. Prices are subject to change as some fabrics may cost more (or less) than others, or creating a new pattern may take time, but this can be discussed.

Unfortunately, we can’t offer returns or refunds on personalised/custom made pieces but we will accept them on pieces which are made to *standard* sizes which we can re-sell, even if we don’t currently offer that size.  Click here to email us to discuss a custom order.

Wholesale Orders

Please contact us here if you are a store or buyer who wishes to stock our products. Prices are negotiable. Wholesale orders will naturally have a longer turnaround time than single orders but will also come with a lower price per piece. We do not offer sale or return orders.

Packaging & Gift Wrapping

All of our packaging, apart from the sticky label, is recyclable (including the tape!) Our pieces are packed using tissue paper and branded content, as well as a receipt. If you’d like your purchase to be a gift, let us know, and we’ll leave the receipt out (if you need a copy, this can be sent to a different address or emailed out to you – we prefer email, of course!), and we can also add coloured tissue paper or ribbon, though we think our packaging is already lovely enough to arrive as a gift!

How Long Do Your Pieces Take To Ship?

Pieces made in the brm studio have a turn-around time of 2-3 working weeks. Pieces made at our Lynemouth factory take 4-5 weeks, then are sent to us for shipping.

We’re based in the UK – inland parcels should reach you in 1-2 days. Parcels to the the rest of the world can take up to 28 days to reach you.
We’ll always send tracked so you can follow your parcel across the globe. Shipping prices are calculated based on weight and size, and include tracking and insurance to cover the cost of your item should anything happen to it. All parcels are sent via UK Royal Mail.
This is worst case scenario timing – it depends on many factors and 99% of the time your item will be on it’s way to you much quicker than that, but items are all made-to-order and (especially at Lynemouth) it depends on the current workload.
You’ll always be updated when your item is ready to ship.

VAT, Taxes and Charges

brm is based in the UK, however we are not a VAT registered company as we do not meet the minimum threshold necessary to charge and pay VAT. That means that brm prices do not include VAT, but you will not be charged any extra upon check out.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you will only pay the price you see on the item page, plus postage.

However, if you live elsewhere in the world, you may have to pay import duties and/or taxes. This is unavoidable, and is payable by the recipient on all goods over a certain monetary value, which differs depending on your country of residence. We urge you to check what your country’s import duty laws and fees are before you order to avoid nasty surprises. The liability for paying these fees lies wholly with the buyer, by law.

Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

Our ready-to-ship pieces can be returned if you are not satisfied with your purchase, no matter the reason – these will have to be posted back at your cost and will be refunded in full if the item is in the same condition it was when it was shipped from us.

Our made-to-order pieces can be returned if you are not satisfied, but we do ask you to double check the measurements to make sure you are ordering the right size before you order – if you’re not sure, ask! We can exchange for a different size, but the replacement piece will also be made-to-order and can, of course, take up to 5 weeks to be sent out. Please contact us ASAP if your order is incorrect.

We include return details in all of our packages – email us, fill in the form and send it back (we don’t offer free returns at the moment – return postage is paid by you, sorry) within 14 days of receiving your item. We will process a refund within 7 days of receiving the returned package. Your item MUST be in the same condition it was in when it left us. We reserve the right to refuse your refund if you return a damaged, worn or washed item to us.

Lost Packages:
We track all of our parcels worldwide to avoid losses, and make sure they are insured up to the value of your item, so this should never be a problem. But mistakes happen, and if your package does go missing we will offer you either a full refund, or a replacement order.

To request a return, refund or replacement, fill in the returns form here.

Care Instructions

All of our pieces are made from natural and/or organic fabrics and require gentle care – we recommend that our pieces are hand washed and dried flat or on a hanger, ideally (it’s greener!), but they are also made to last in the 21st century, so can be washed in a washing machine at a low heat and ironed on a medium heat (or a high heat with a protective layer to avoid damage) – natural fabrics crease very easily so ironing is certainly recommended! All pieces come with a care label with these specific instructions in English.
